Week 4: Texture Me

This picture is one that I think is just fascinating. It is so very subtle, but says so much. When I heard we were challenged by "www.iheartfaces.com" this week to work with texture, I INSTANTLY went to this picture. This picture captures a kind of texture that many don't SEE (although it IS right IN FRONT of our eyes ;-)
EYELASHES
My daughter has the biggest brown eyes and her eyelashes have always been envied by many adults! I took this picture a few weeks ago just so she could SEE her eyes. When she saw it on my camera she said "My eyes look like they have angel's wings"... so now we call our eyelashes angel's wings :-)
I also won the Flora Bella Collection of actions and textures and my laptop has not left my lap since! Well... I did eat... BUT- I ate while I played with it. This picture has the "soft urban" action with two separate layers of the "vintage screen" texture. The first layer is set at 33% opacity and covers the whole picture. The second layer is set at 38% opacity and fill at 18% and is set to the left of the face to cover the empty space. I love this picture and am honored to show everyone the collection I won!

I Heart Faces Week 3 Challenge: "We are family!"

This family is just simply amazing! This is our church rock band's guitarist!! Yes- she does rock! I have photographed several families, but I chose this photo because of the uniqueness in the family! They have a two year old little girl and they are expecting a boy... why are they unique? First of all, she is an Aussie and he is a Floridian :-) But most of all, they are all about each other and their faith! I think this is one of my most favorite photos of a family spending time together :-) Although it will be much more fun now that the baby is here (born yesterday!).

Don't forget to check out www.iheartfaces.com for all of the great advice and they have to offer!
Also, be sure to check out all of the great submissions by the other photographers! SIMPLY inspiring!!

"i heart faces" Week 1 Photo Challenge

This week, we were challenged by "www.iheartfaces.com" to capture a photo utilizing the "i heart faces" logo! This is the first time I have ever done this with photoshop, so I was pretty excited to already see myself growing in the first week of this challenge! It was a lot of fun taking some of these photos and playing around with them. However, I did add a bit of creativity of my own!

This adorable little angel just had to get her hands on an "i heart faces" ornament! What better way of decorating the tree!

Who knew that "i heart faces" could be found in the mystical woods. Just goes to show that every fantasy can be reality in the world of photography.

Every little girl needs a personalized "i heart faces" headband!

My poor husband... I told him I needed to photograph him for sake of my progression! He still wasn't too happy. We had just woke up, I threw his hat on him, and said smile :-) I suppose this is what I get.

By the end of these photo challenges, my middle daughter is going to LOVE photography!! This picture was taken at 8:00 this morning. She got an entire FAMILY SIZE box of Sweet tarts if she helped me make "pretties". There were better pictures with her smiling, but I saw this one and thought of the "candy coma" she is now in! Perfect...

Be sure to check out the other entries for this week!!
